Most elders do have superiority complex, but disowning you as a family member is not fair. Right now you may not have a choice but to obey out of respect, but at some point in time you have to stand by your own decisions and prove yourself to them. The perfect time to do this is when you think that everything in your life is going well or when you become a well established individual. So be patient, finish school, get a decent job and prove to them that you are your own man.
